Leaking Smooth Built Up Roof Repair		 This Smooth Built Up Roof was obviously past its prime and was in major need of resurfacing. When the AWS independent Dealer first received the call, he considered one of our coatings restoration systems, but when he did his site survey he came to the conclusion that this building owner would be better served going with our single-ply membrane roofing system.

Before installing the TPO membrane the approved Dealer laid out a fire rated underlayment. This sheet is only 6 mils, is very light, and is only needed as separation sheet to keep the new TPO roof from coming in contact with potential harmful asphaltic oils.

After laying out the underlayment, the AWS Dealer then fastened the TPO membrane to the perimeter of the roof and then in the field of the existing substrate. All seams and flashing detail are heat welded so there are no glues or tapes needed to completely waterproof this or any other of our TPO roof systems. This building owner now has a bright white, energy efficient roof instead of a black energy wasting roof system. This TPO membrane will last at least ten years.
