TPO Edge Sealant

DESCRIPTION

TPO Edge Sealant is a one-part liquid elastomeric sealant that is used primarily as a sealing agent on cut edges of the TPO membrane after they are heat welded. It offers good adhesion to TPO membrane and other surfaces.

INSTALLATION

Please consult current WeatherStar TPO specifications and details for specific applications.

1.   Apply TPO Edge Sealant according to WeatherStar standard specifications and details.

2.   If seam area is contaminated, use a clean rag saturated with cleaner, thoroughly clean an area on both sheets at least 2" (51 mm) each way from the edge of the seam.

3.   Cut approximately 1/4" (6.4 mm) of the tip off the plastic squeeze bottle. Apply a 1/8"  (3.2 mm) bead of TPO Edge Sealant to the cut edge of the TPO membrane. Ensure bead covers entire edge.

NOTE:  Allow sealant to dry to tack-free state prior to inclement weather. All cut edges shall be sealed before day’s end. Sealant is required for exposed cut edges of the TPO membrane.
